Moonbow Wit, our summer seasonal, is a Belgian wheat ale. Brewed with Pilsen malt, unmalted wheat and Czech Saaz Hops. Coriander and bitter orange peel provide light citrus notes in this summer refresher. This white ale is reminiscent of the full moon needed to see the rare Moonbow at Cumberland Falls.

Red Hot Mocha Porter
Our second in a series of beers featuring Red Hot Roasters Coffee is a Mocha Porter. The Red Hot Mocha Porter was brewed with a larger percentage of Chocolate Malt then our Nitro Porter, plus the addition of ground coffee to the kettle. After fermentation it was then aged for a week on Cacao Nibs. Served through our nitrogen faucet, no promises on a leaf design on top like the coffee shops....

More Cask Conditioned Ale This Week
On Thursday we are tapping a pin (5 gals) of Pale Ale, that was dry hopped with Amarillo Hops.
On friday, once the Pale Ale is finished, we will tap the last cask of Barleywine. This cask has been ageing for the last 5 months. We decided to tap it this weekend since this looks like the last few days of cool spring weather before the summer heat hits us. This dry hopped firkin (10gal) is 10% abv and sold by half pint only
Pilsner
In time for the warm weather to roll through we are tapping our second lager of the year today. This Bohemian style Pilsner was brewed with 80% Pilsen malt as well as a touch of light caramel malts to give it a deep golden color. Plenty of Czech Saaz hops were added to the kettle for flavor and aroma as well as a pleasant bitterness to compliment the dry lager. Look for it also at the Flannagan's Beer Festival this Sunday.
Also on tap at the restaraunt is Quest Outdoors' Canoe Oil. Inspired by the need for a cold beer to get that canoe moving sometimes. Canoe Oil is a twist on the cream ale, using a lighter malt
and swapping the flaked corn for flaked rice. The rice results in a nice dry ale without the residual sweetness of the corn in the cream ale.
Whats in the Tank?
Just wanted to give a heads up on some upcoming beers. Last week brought the return of Goatboy Bock, both at the pub but also sent out to our local distributor. This is the first lager of what hopes to be a four part lager series. The second of the series, a Bohemian Pilsner, is lagering in the fermentor and should be on tap around mid may. The third is an India Cream Lager a hybrid cross between a cream ale and a IPA that is fermenting with our lager yeast. The fourth Lager is yet to be decided.
Recently Ricky has been cranking out a variety of different IPA's on the small system. This August is Cumberland Brews' 10th Aniversary. To honour this milestonethe brewers will be taking over control of the taps for one day, replacing them with 10 of our favorite IPA's from 2010. More details to come on this special event.
